Pina Colada

Malibu rum // pineapple juice // coconut milk

The Pina Colada is a classic, created in Puerto Rico, dating back to 1952. This cocktail just gets me thinking about future holidays on the beach. The Malibu taste is rich and runs through the cocktail, with creamy coconut milk and a tangy hit of pineapple.

If you are using your box to make 12 cocktails, you'll need 25ml of Malibu, 50ml of pineapple juice and 3 tablespoons of coconut milk. If you want to make 6 stronger cocktails, I would recommend upping to 50ml of Malibu and just adding slightly more pineapple juice, say another 25ml. I like to empty my coconut milk into a container, give it a good mix and leave it in the fridge for 30 mins before I use it. It cools the mixture and creates a more creamy texture. It's a taste preference, you're the creator, so just see how you go!

  1. Add 25ml of Malibu to your jam jar.

  2. Fill the jar with ice. You want this to be to the top of the jam, but so that you can also get the lid on.

  3. Add 50ml of pineapple juice.

  4. Give you tin of coconut milk a good shake, open and mix (or remove from the fridge and mix if you emptied it into a container)!

  5. Add 3 tablespoons of coconut milk to your jam jar. This amount will allow the pineapple flavour to come through more - if you like it a bit creamier, then add an extra tablespoon.

  6. Put the lid on and give it a good shake.

  7. Put a straw in and enjoy. Top tip - stand outside with your eyes closed and take a sip whilst pretending you are on a beach...).

cosmopolitan

vodka // fresh lime // cointreau // cranberry juice

The Cosmopolitan is a sharp, punchy cocktail. I really love the taste of cointreau, a little goes a long way with this one. The sharpness of the cranberry is what this ones all about, with underlying flavours of the Finlandia vodka running through.

If you are using your box to make 12 cocktails, you'll need 25ml of vodka, 100ml of cranberry juice, a quarter of a fresh lime and a dash of cointreau. If you want to make 6 stronger cocktails, I would recommend upping to 50ml of vodka and just adding another dash of cointreau. It's a taste preference, you're the creator, so just see how you go!

  1. Add 25ml of vodka to your jam jar.

  2. Add a quarter of a lime, giving it a good squeeze as you drop it into the jar.

  3. Fill the jar with ice. You want this to be to the top of the jam, but so that you can also get the lid on.

  4. Add a dash of Cointreau (remember if you are making 12 cocktails, then this will need to go 4 ways - a little is enough as its a powerful flavour).

  5. Add 100ml of cranberry juice

  6. Put the lid on and give it a good shake!

  7. You can add a peice of lime to the top for decoration. I don't squeeze mine to prevent acidic flavours dominating the cocktail, I let it sit on the top. I usually create a lime wheel!

  8. Put a straw in and enjoy.

Pink gin twist

Gin // rose lemonade // bitter lemon juice // fresh lemon

This one is a Jam Jar creation. I really like bitter and sweet tasting cocktails, especially ones that bring back childhood memories (FYI I didn't drink cocktails as a kid... I mean the flavour). See if you can guess what flavour it reminds me of! Clue: it's a sweet! We used to have it around Christmas time.

If you are using your box to make 12 cocktails, you'll need 25ml of gin, 65ml of rose lemonade, 25ml of bitter lemon and a wedge of fresh lemon. If you want to make 6 stronger cocktails, I would recommend upping to 50ml of gin and just adding slightly more rose lemonade. It's a taste preference, you're the creator, so just see how you go!

  1. Add 25ml of gin to your jam jar.

  2. Fill the jar with ice. You want this to be to the top of the jam, but so that you can also get the lid on.

  3. Put the lid on and give it a good shake! This will chill the gin.

  4. Add 65ml of rose lemonade (it's about 2 and a half shots).

  5. Add 25ml of bitter lemon.

  6. Top with ice and give it a stir with a spoon.

  7. You can add a piece of lemon to the top for decoration.

  8. Put a straw in and enjoy.
