THE FRIDAY NIGHT BOX

YOUR RECIPES...

THE GIN GARDEN

Gin // cloudy apple juice // elderflower // cucumber

The Gin Garden is by far one of our best sellers at events. It has a beautifully crisp and refreshing flavour, with hints of elderflower and cucumber make it a big hit. Plus come on, who doesn't want a gin cocktail?

If you are using your box to make 12 cocktails, you'll need 25ml of gin, 50ml of cloudy apple juice, 50ml of elderflower and some fresh cucumber. If you want to make 6 stronger cocktails, I would recommend upping to 50ml of gin and just adding slightly more cloudy apple juice. It's a taste preference, you're the creator, so just see how you go!

  1. Add 25ml of gin to your jam jar.

  2. Fill the jar with ice. You want this to be to the top of the jam, but so that you can also get the lid on.

  3. Add 50ml of cloudy apple juice.

  4. Add 50ml of elderflower.

  5. Put the lid on and give it a good shake!

  6. Add a slice of cucumber. Sometimes I like to take a vegetable peeler and peel off the length of the cucumber, then roll it up.

  7. Put a straw in and enjoy. This is one for the sun.

Moscow mule

vodka // fresh lime // ginger beer

This is one of my favourite cocktails. It's simple and has a good hit to it. The ginger beer needs to be fiery and you should be able to taste hints of the vodka, that's brought to life by the fresh lime. If I was going to make one of mine a double, this would be it.

If you are using your box to make 12 cocktails, you'll need 25ml of vodka, 100ml of ginger beer and a quarter of a fresh lime. If you want to make 6 stronger cocktails, I would recommend upping to 50ml of vodka and just adding slightly more ginger beer. It's a taste preference, you're the creator, so just see how you go! Adding much more lime might make it slightly acidic.

  1. Add 25ml of vodka to your jam jar.

  2. Add a quarter of a lime, giving it a good squeeze as you drop it into the jar.

  3. Fill the jar with ice. You want this to be to the top of the jam, but so that you can also get the lid on.

  4. Put the lid on and give it a good shake!

  5. Top up with 100ml of ginger beer.

  6. You can add a peice of lime to the top for decoration. I don't squeeze mine to prevent acidic flavours dominating the cocktail, I let it sit on the top. I usually create a lime wheel!

  7. Put a straw in and enjoy.

Rum Punch

Dark rum // pineapple juice // orange juice // fresh lime

The sun couldn't have come out at a more perfect time for this one! Fresh, fruity and with notes of punchy rum, livened up with fresh lime.

If you are using your box to make 12 cocktails, you'll need 25ml of rum, 50ml of orange juice, 50 ml of pineapple juice and an eighth of a fresh lime. If you want to make 6 stronger cocktails, I would recommend upping to 50ml of rum and just adding slightly more pineapple juice. It's a taste preference, you're the creator, so just see how you go!

  1. Add 25ml of rum to your jam jar.

  2. Add an eighth of a lime, giving it a good squeeze as you drop it into the jar.

  3. Add 50ml of orange juice.

  4. Add 50ml of pineapple juice.

  5. Fill the jar with ice. You want this to be to the top of the jam, but so that you can also get the lid on.

  6. Put the lid on and give it a good shake!

  7. You can add a piece of lime to the top for decoration. I give mine a slight squeeze for this one, lime and rum is a serious combo.

  8. Put a straw in and enjoy.
